By using WingMe, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our Service.

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Email address and password when you create an account.
  • Profile Information: Name, age, gender, bio, interests, photos, and dating preferences (interested in, looking for, age range, distance preferences).
  • Phone Number: Optionally provided for contact syncing to find friends on the platform.
  • Communications: Messages you send to other users through the chat feature.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Location Data: With your permission, we collect your device's geographic location to provide distance-based matching.
  • Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including swipe activity, matches, and feature usage.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers for push notification delivery.

2.3 Contact Information

With your explicit permission, we may access your device's contact list to help you find friends who are already using WingMe. Contact data is processed only for matching purposes and is not stored on our servers beyond the matching session.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account and profile.
  • Provide the core matchmaking service, including showing your profile to other users' wingmates.
  • Enable friend connections and wingmate crew functionality.
  • Calculate distance between users for location-based matching.
  • Send push notifications about matches, friend requests, and messages.
  • Improve and optimize the Service.
  • Ensure safety, security, and compliance with our terms.

4. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information in the following ways:

  • With Other Users: Your profile information (name, age, photos, bio, interests) is visible to other users' wingmates as part of the matchmaking process.
  • With Your Wingmates: Friends you add as wingmates can see your profile and preferences to help find matches for you.
  • Service Providers: We use Supabase for data storage and authentication, and OneSignal for push notifications. These providers process data on our behalf.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Photos are stored in secure cloud storage with access controls. Authentication tokens are managed through industry-standard protocols.

6. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access and Update: You can view and update your profile information at any time through the app.
  • Location: You can enable or disable location services through your device settings.
  • Contacts: Contact access is optional and can be revoked through device settings.
  • Push Notifications: You can manage notification preferences in your device settings.
  • Account Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at support@wingme.date.
  • Data Portability: You may request a copy of your data by contacting us.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

Chat messages are retained while both users maintain an active match. Unmatching deletes the conversation history.

8. Children's Privacy

WingMe is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. Our servers are located in the EU (Northern Europe). We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place when transferring data internationally.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
